i would not do a 10k service interval iregardless of manufacturers recommendation, every 3k miles using regular oil and 5k miles using synthetic.....just my professional opinion

my service intervals for the diesel motor are 20k miles....screw that, every 3k for me preventative maintenance for the win

 

I would agree on the diesel 5k max but on the Petrol Engine on Synthetic would it be 5k or 10k.

 

the first part of that was directed towards the petrol engine. i wouldnt go past 5k even on synthetic regardless of oil manufacturers claims of milage of use.

i am a little excessive when it comes to maintenace though, when i had a Toyota Altezza i would change the engine oil & filter every 3k miles, the transmission, diff oil and plugs every 6k miles, basically every other oil change and that was with Mobil 1 synthetic engine oil & redline synthetic mtl and gear oil....i did drive quite hard though....

of course this is just my opinion and personal habit, but how can changing your oil & oil filter every 5k miles be a bad thing?

 

Hey if I was able to change the oil myself I wouldnt have an issue but then I am getting hit for $200 to $400 per 5000km s then it starts to add up damm fast.
Might start changing my own oils at 5k and have it officially serviced at 10k.
Still not cheap with oil filters etc is $100 every time

 

Its every 10 000 kms.......ya big goose.

Hey when I last got it serviced they marked it for a 5k interval. I was just curious tis all.
I have no life as I really not fussed driving a puss box 4cyl auto XTrail. Nissan has the truck yet again so all the work I need to be doin on it isnt hapening.
I went over to Rowdies place earlier to lend him my brake rotors cos somehow he broke a almost new DBA rotor. Go Figure.
Just sitting back watching Indy actually .

 

for me..

oil: 3k mi for Mobil 1, Amsoil I dont even bother checking till after 6k mi.
Transmission (auto): Every 10k mi
Air filter: everytime I do the oil.
Diff's: Ever 30k mi
